Chasing the mirage

People mistake achieving appearances for achieving aims.

Successful people are busy! So you work hard at looking busy (doing the wrong things).

Successful people have lots of money! So you work hard at looking rich (spending all you have).

Successful people are really popular! So you work hard at gaining followers on Twitter (instead of becoming genuinely worthwhile).

The problem is successful people never attain their success this way. You’re copying their result, and not their method.

Be careful you don’t become so good at lying that you forget to improve the truth.
